Pictures can mean all sorts of things to different people… sometimes we need WORDS to CLARIFY the pictures!!! Here in Paris, Mummy and I wanted to enter a lovely little garden, tiny little thing it was. On the gate was the BOTTOM SIGN with a dog holding a leash in his mouth and a BIG RED X across the dog. OK THEN… I think they don’t allow dogs in this park but I am in my little carrying bag. Would THAT BE OK??? They had written something in french underneath and Mummy googled it… “not even on a leash.” Hmmm… we take this to mean that they don’t want dogs in here AT ALL, under ANY CONDITION. But they don’t mention carrying bags… hmmmm, we just forget the whole thing. We can see the whole park from the sidewalk through the wrought iron fence anyway, it’s really just a big garden.
NOW… yesterday we went to the Park André Citroën. This is a HUGE 35-acre park with numerous private areas sectioned off for the public’s enjoyment and we wanted to go in there. The sign at the TOP is what was posted on the gate when we arrived. First of all, getting to this park was a major metro fiasco and Mummy wasn’t going to just turn around and go home… and this is how she interpreted that sign. “No doggies on leashes allowed.” Well, I wasn’t on a leash… I was in my carrying bag and she had NO INTENTION of setting me on the ground while in the park. We walked inside, a gardner greeted us with a friendly nod and didn’t say anything so we proceeded to enjoy the beautiful park for a few hours. I NEVER set a PAW on the ground of that park and other than perhaps a stray hair I might have lost, no one will ever know I was there. We DID SEE one little RAT scurrying in the bushes along a fence, so I think they have bigger issues to deal with besides a little yorkie in a carrying bag!!! My limited experience has been that if you see ONE RAT, there are a MILLION MORE, sooo they might want to put out some traps or something. Just sayin’. All in all, it was the most FANTASTIC GARDEN and you should visit here if you ever come to Paris…. just stay on the path. Don’t go messing around in the bushes!!!! ????????
I’ve never had a problem in a park is I had Breeze in a carry bag or a stroller. They just don’t want them to go potty in the park.
You know what it was Millie? they didn’t have a sign up that said “no rats” that’s why it was there I’m sure if they had a sign up it wouldn’t have gone in! LOL It must be difficult to find spots to potty in Paris grates around trees and signs posted at parks 🙁
Have you seen the “stay off the grass” signs? The ones in the middle of the sea of sunbathing people?
I think some signs in Paris are “suggestions”
Millie I guess that don’t know who you really are!! I really think it’s meant for kids but they really don’t want to put a real child on it! LOL hahaha ?
I’ll need to get a bag as I couldn’t get into some parks with her in a rolling bag
