When you need a quick little “sweet” for a party, or maybe someone is stopping by for coffee… I have just the thing for you to fix! This will take less than 30 minutes to prepare and get into the oven… 12 minutes to bake and then let it cool off. It is so easy, that a child could practically make it, and people will be begging you for the super easy recipe! This is perfect to have around for the holidays… try it for yourself.

.

1 cup salted butter

1 cup light brown sugar

1 cup chopped pecans (chop them small)

1 teaspoon vanilla

14-16 whole graham crackers (about 1 1/2 sleeves)

.

Line a large 12×17 -inch baking sheet with foil and then lightly spray it with PAM. Separate your graham cracker squares into long strips along the perforated lines and then break each strip in half to make little tiny squares. These do not need to be perfect. You just want to end up with little bite-sized pieces in the end. Place them on your baking sheet like in PICTURE 1. In a medium sized saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the brown sugar and bring this to a low boil. Add your pecans and cook this until it begins to slightly foam up… but don’t cook it too long or it will get too thick! Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla. Very carefully pour this mixture as evenly as you can over the tops of your graham crackers. With a spoon, spread the mixture around to try and level it out as best you can. It does not need to be perfect because it will melt and level out more while it bakes. It should now look like PICTURE 2. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until you see the surface bubbling slightly. Carefully remove from oven and let them COOL COMPLETELY IN THE PAN! They should look like PICTURE 3 when you take them from the oven. When completely cool, begin lifting them up and snapping them spart along the already broken lines of the graham crackers. You can see the lines easier by turning the crackers over and snapping them that way. Place them on a pile on a pretty plate and they will soon DISAPPEAR! See PICTURE 4. I hope that you enjoy this recipe. If you make this recipe and enjoy it, I would love to read your comments.

Oh my goodness… you don’t have graham crackers??? The most common brand is Nabisco Honey Maid Graham Crackers . Google these and see what you have that is similar. Surely you can order them from Amazon. They are in a royal blue box.

THIS IS A N EASY AND DELICIOUS RECIPE. MY MISTRESS MAKES THESE WITH KEEBLER GRAHAM CRACKERS. SHE BREAKS THEM ALONG THEIR LINES AND THEY MAKE SMALL RETANGULAR CRACKER-COOKIE THAT LOOK VERY PRETTY ON A PLATE…JUST A SUGGESTION.
