Do you know where I am? If you guessed on Champs-Élysées at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris then you are right! There are soooo many shops here that I could shop all day long and still not see them all. Here is a bit of information on the Arc de Triomphe and the traffic that “flows” around it: there are 12 streets that radiate around it and make a “star” pattern, which is why this area is called l‘étoile (the star). There are no lines on the street and the cars dart in and out, changing lanes like maniacs! This is the only location in all of Paris where accidents are split 50-50 no matter WHOSE FAULT it was… so if you are driving a cheap 5,000 euro car and you get rammed by a 150,000 euro Mercedes, you will pay HALF of their repair bill and they will pay half of yours!!! Cars entering the roundabout have the right of way. There is less traffic on the inner part of the circle but EVENTUALLY you have to exit and will need to work your way back OUT, which is pretty scary from what we witnessed from the backseat of our cab. DO NOT ATTEMPT to drive this circle while you are here!!! Just take pictures of it. ????Go shopping, stop for a coffee at one of the many cafés, and enjoy Paris! Bisou bisou! ??
Glad you are having a great time with mommy and daddy.
Millie shopping is always a good thing! I saw somewhere about that circle thing you’re talking about. If I were in another country and didn’t know my way around I don’t think I’d be driving. If it’s anything like I drove in New Jersey I would pass. The circle in New Jersey is no longer there. They finally after all these years made it a straight road!!! ??
Oms! That traffic seems insane! No thanks. I’ll not drive that! You look so lovely! So glad you are having fun shopping!
Maybe you should guide Mummy out of the middle of the road. LOL
Millie would you please guide Mummy out of the middle of the road. LOL
Lololololol this is the BEST SPOT to get a picture of the Arc de Triomphe!!!
sounds like when I watched Chevy Chase’s European Vacation! Here you are kids… Big Ben … Parliament.. over and over and over…. Did you ever watch that movie Millie? it’s hilarious! The driving is just like you describe! LOL I wouldn’t want to drive in a foreign country oh no I tend to panic when I get lost. LOL
Millie you look beautiful in front of Champs-élysées. How long are you and your parents in Paris for this time
Millie, you be careful in the middle of that busy street!
Wjat a beautiful picture of you Millie. The traffic sounds awful. Its like that in China. There wasnt lanes like hete in the US. Cars darted in and out going both ways and there were hundreds of bikes weaving in and out.
We’d just come out of the airport after meeting our guide and hadent been in the cab 15 minutes wjen a car just two cars ahesd flew into the air and landed on its side? scared the entire two weeks. Beijing was the worse.. have fun
