.

My little sister Addie Mae has developed a terrible rash on the front of her chest for some unknown reason. By the time Mummy investigated the reason for all of the scratching, she had already scratched in raw!  Now Mummy has shaved the hair down in that area and applied some medicinal ointment to the area and put a t-shirt on her to keep her from scratching it.  Over the past few days it has slowly gotten better but poor little Addie has been very comfortable and itchy.  We have not determined WHAT caused it…nothing in her diet has changed.  Maybe a bug bit her?  Do things like this ever happen with your babies???

I am so sorry to hear that Addie Mae has been uncomfortable. Good thing Mummy knew what to do for her. Yes, unfortunately things do happen. One time Ollie went out to potty and got into a bunch of ticks. His hair was black so I didn’t notice them right away. When we went to the vet he said he had scrached himself all over. He had to have a special bath and medicine. He felt so much better within a few days. I wash and cleaned everything he had. Hope you figure out why and what, but glad she… Read more »

Oh poor little Addie Mae! Hugs little sweetie. A little rescue, Cody, had no hair, scratched himself raw. The vet determined his problem was caused by extensive previous steroids. Cody itched, got steroids, itched, steroids. He was 8 when he came to live with us. Our vet gave anti-itch shot, special shampoo. I put a shirt on him and a donut to keep him from gnawing on himself. About 8 months later, he had beautiful hair, no steroids, no itching. His eyes and organs were quite damaged from the steroids. He was happy and much loved until time to cross… Read more »

Awe! Poor Addie May. I’ve seen where other Yorkies sometimes get a yeast infection (rash) on their tummies, but I’ve never had to deal with those symptoms. I hope she heals quickly!

Yes we just had a problem with our Dewey it was like a hot spot. I have some white powder I got from the vet. It is called Neo~Predef rwith Tetracaine Powder. It works wonderful. I think you need to get it from a vet or get a precipitous for it. I hope she is better real soon. Hugs and kisses for Aiden Mae

A few years ago my little naked girl sat on a ants nest had to take her to our vets a few hrs later and that’s when I found out what had happened. She was very paranoid about bugs after that. Don’t blame her though.

Awww…poor little Addie Mae! No worries mummy will make it all better. My Bella got a bite on her leg the other day and I saw her scratching and biting at it so I put an itching healing cream on her too. It is organic and healthy so if she licks it she won’t get sick. She’s been getting better too. You are not alone Addie Mae! I hope you feel better real soon. ❤❤❤???

UGH! I’m dealing with this sorta thing with my Scruffy he had chewed/scratched a place raw on his right hip! I have a medical spray for hot spots from the Vet to use twice a day… I give him baths … I tried putting pj’s on him…. I put salve on it… I put peroxide on it…… I put essential oils on it…… ( not all at the same time LOL ) and just when it seems like it’s looking better he starts to chew at it again! smh This happened last summer too and when I took him to… Read more »

Our Millee Marie gets occasional itchiness and her skin around her armpits looks dry. I spray her with Zymox Topical Spray, Hydrocortisone 1%. And add the little t-shirt. It clears up right away. Also, I can’t feed anything with chicken, beef, or pork as they have developed an allergy to them.

Get well soon sweet Addie Mae!

Oh my goodness, I was so scared thinking something very bad had happened. My heart skipped a beat on that one. I dont often get a chance to check in on you all. So busy as my husband is total care. He no longer walks. Plus watching my two granddaughters daily. I became their teacher and it looks like we’ll be homeschooling in Aug when school starts up again. They tell us social distance. How can you do that on a crowded bus! I do not fear this virus. I believe the masks are not helpful unless you work in… Read more »

Wow!, Yes, my buddy Tacker has had a rash on his underside the last couple weeks. I thought it was maybe from his “diapers’ but it’s also on his chest and bony prominences by all four legs, and sometimes under his neck. some of it looks like hives. I’ve been washing him frequently, underneath and also put some cream on which stopped the scratching. Thought it was gone, but no. I have some Metacam drops the vet had prescribed in the Spring for allergies, and I’ve given him a drop or two as prescribed daily and it is helping. The… Read more »

Poor Addie Mae. One of my yorkies had a problem with itching. I started using Burts Bees soothing hot spot shampoo and it seemed to help. Burt’s Bees also has a hot spot spray for relieving itching. I like their products because they use natural ingredients. I hope Addie Mae continues to improve.

Poor sweet AddieMae. I have good luck using Colloidal Silver. Lol. I use it for insect bites on myself and the dogs if they have a rash in the butt area. It is as good as benedryl. Hugs

Sorry Addie Mae! Allie has Allergies and is on CYTOPOINT shots every other month. Awesome Product. Allie weighs 6lbs and is given 1/4 AM and 1/4 PM Zyrtec OTC Human allergy medication. You can also use OTC Human Hydrocortisone 1% for itches that become red or bloody! In between baths I take generic Oatmeal and blend it into fine powder – place a table spoon+ in an old nylon sock and let it sit in a plastic cup then rinse Addie off – no soap needs and pour the Oatmeal solution. Helps with the scratching!

I am sorry Addie Mae has the rash. Poor baby! My Mitzi had a terrible time with allergies . She would break out often. We finally had her allergy tested and it turned out that she had a chicken allergy. We had been giving her food with chicken for years. We had no idea! We switched her to another food and she didn’t have any more problems! I hope Mummy finds the cause quickly and Addie Mae has a speedy recovery.

Hi Millie
Tell Mummy that I was scratching too. I went to the Dogter yesterday & she said it was staph. My Mummy has to bathe that area once daily with medicated shampoo. I have to get wrapped in a towel & I get held while it soaks on my skin. I’m not complaining though, because I’m a baby! Please tell Addie Mae to feel better soon.
Love & kisses

I had a pomeranian once that developed a rash on her chest but it was because when she drank she would get her hair in it and in sometimes I wouldn’t get to dry it off soon enough so she actually developed a yeast infection. This is probably something else. Poor Addie Mae

I’m sorry to hear this about Addie Mae. I hope the ointment helps her. Maybe it’s a heat rash from being so hot or a uggy buggy bit her.

Maybe you should try a test for environmental and food sensitivities. Glacier Peak makes one you send in hair and saliva samples for. It is a great test and they do a consult after they have the results. https://glacierpeakholistics.com/products/pet-wellness-life-stress-scan-1?variant=31267012740

Yes! And it is driving me crazy. My baby has started licking her feet non-stop. I tried to get her into the vet today but because of COVID in AZ, they are only taking emergency patients. She suggested a quarter of a baby Benadryl but to watch her closely. I too have not changed her diet, changed floor cleaning products or has anything been sprayed outside. I think it has to be pollen from something in the air. I try to stop her every time I see her licking her paws but even during the night I hear her as… Read more »

My Fanny used to scratch all the time and chew her paws. They thought she was allergic to chicken, but even though we stopped feeding anything chicken based, she still scratched. No one knew what was causing her to be so miserable. Finally our Vet said we should try giving her a Cytopoint shot. Within 3 days she had stopped scratching. We determined that for her the shot lastS about 4 1/2 months then she needs another one. She’s a much happier girl now.
She’s a Lhasa Apso.

Poor Addie Mae! My Yorkie Greta has that every spring/summer. It is supposedly allergies! She will scratch herself raw. Organic hot spot creams and sprays don’t work. A soothing bath only gives short relief. Our vet gives her an allergy shot and within hours she gets relief.

Addie Mae, I hope you heal and feel better soon. Our Mr. Flint had some bugs on him a few years ago and they made him itch. We think he got the bugs from our Hollyhocks. We washed him well that day, and he has not itched since. And so from then on, we keep a close eye on him, so he does not wonder to close to the Hollyhocks. I hope you recover soon sweet Addie Mae. God bless you and take care.

HAS ADDIE SEEN HER VET.

WHENEVER MY MISTRESS SUSPECTS I MIGHT BE COMING DOWN WITH SOMETHING, I AM QUICKLY TAKEN TO MY VET. BY THE TIME ONE CAN SEES I HAVE A PROBLEM, IT COULD BE TOO LATE TO HELP ME. BAD THINGS WORK VERY SLOWLY ON US TURTLES AND OFTEN HIDES INSIDE US. THAT IS WHY MY MISTRESS CHECKS ME OVER EVERY DAY.
