.

We have really been enjoying our stay in the beautiful state of MAINE. Of course, the seafood is delicious, but so are the FRESH BERRIES! Mummy just couldn’t pass up the chance to stop at a local farmer’s market and pick up a few containers of fresh picked raspberries and blackberries. We already had some gorgeous blueberries that a sweet friend brought to us so the first thing she thought of was her yummy “MIXED BERRY COBBLER.” It is soooo easy to make and can be eaten alone or served with a little scoop of vanilla ice cream on top if you really want to splurge. Let us know how you like it, if you try it for your family. ?❤️?

.

MIXED BERRY COBBLER

.

1 stick butter, melted

1 cup all purpose flour

1 cup sugar

3/4 cup almond milk (regular milk is fine too)

1/8 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup blackberries

1 cup blueberries

1 cup raspberries

2 Tablespoons raw sugar (if desired)

.

Melt the butter in a small dish and pour into an 8 x 8 inch baking pan. In a large bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, milk, salt and baking powder until it is smooth. Pour this mixture over the top of the melted butter that is already in your baking pan. Gently sprinkle the fruit all over the batter. Do not mix it in… just let the pieces fall on top of the batter. If desired, sprinkle the 2 Tablespoons of raw sugar across the top of the cobbler mixture… this adds just a bit of  “crunch” to the finished cobbler but is not neccessary for a delicious-tasting dessert! Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until golden brown on top… check it at around 50 minutes because all ovens are different. It is best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream… but Daddy has eaten it straight out of the pan before and he swears THAT is the BEST WAY! ???

.

You can mix up the fruits with this cobbler and use your favorite ones. It is great with PEACHES too! Mummy uses 4 cups of peaches when she uses those!!! You just can’t mess this up. Just make sure to let it cool off before serving, because MAN OH MAN, this stuff is SOME KIND OF SCALDING HOT when it comes out of the oven!!! And after you store the leftovers in the refrigerator, YUMMY YUMMY… this is soooo good just eaten plain with a glass of ice cold milk!

.

BONE APPETIT! ?❤️?

It is a perfect summertime dessert when all of the fruits begin to ripen but you can use frozen fruits in the winter if you get the urge for this cobbler.

Ohhhh it is delicious with just peaches! That is one of Daddy’s very, very favorites. Use 4 cups of slices peaches if you make a peach only cobbler.

THE MIXED BERRY COBBLER PICTURE LOOKS PRETTY. MY MASTER LOVES COBBLERS AND MY MISTRESS MAKES THEM FOR HIM JUST LIKE YOUR DOES FOR YOUR MASTER. MY VET SAYS I AM SUPPOSED TO EAT FRUIT, BERRIES AND VEGETABLES. LOTS OF LUCK DOC. I WILL EAT SOME BANANA BUT THAT IS IT. GIVE ME SCRABLED EGGS, BABY SWISS CHEESE, WHOLE SMELT, RAW CHICHEN AND RAW TURKEY…BRING ON THAT TURKEY. THANK YOU FOR THE RECIPE, PRETTY PUP. HOPE YOU AND THE REST OF YOUR PACK CONTINUE TO HAVE FUN AND A SAFE TRIP.

Thank you sweet Snuggles Anne! Sometimes we get a nibble of cobbler and we really love it! Doggies can have lots of fruits so Mummy will often dehydrate them for us… like strawberries, pineapple, blueberries and bananas. We love bits of apple too and sometimes Mummy will dice them up really tiny and add them to our dinner. I think your Master will love this cobbler. It is not too “bready” and soooo quick to make.
