This is a really quick side dish that goes nicely with breakfast or dinner items. It is light and refreshing and has that little bit of sweetness that we all crave! Try it with your next meal and see what happens! I think you will really like this!
.
MAPLE APPLES
.
1 Tablespoon unsalted butter
2 Granny Smith apples (peeled and diced into tiny bits)
1/4 cup dried cherries
2 Tablespoons raisins
2 Tablespoons maple syrup
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
.
In a large skillet, melt the butter and add the apples, cherries and raisins. Saute until the apples are nice and soft, but not mushy. Keep stirring so that it doesn’t burn. Stir in the syrup, cinnamon and salt and mix well. Cook until everything is all heated through and serve warm. Store in a covered container in the refrigerator. You may also serve this cold and it is also yummy…you choose!
