I LOVE FLOWERS!!! I think they make a room so much happier and a yard so much prettier… don’t you? Mummy and I visited Luxembourg Gardens in Paris and here, they even allow doggies in certain areas as long as they are on a leash, so we took advantage of that and strolled right in!!! WOWZA WHAT A PLACE! Here’s what we learned about this place:
.
It covers about 60 acres in the middle of Paris and is one of the most popular parks in the city. Probably because they allow DOGS, is MY GUESS!!! The Luxembourg Palace is in the center with the lovely gardens all around. They were created by Marie de Médici between 1612 and 1631. She was said to be homesick for her hometown of Florence, Italy and had the gardens designed to remind her of the Boboli Gardens. Her original garden was about 20 acres and many of the original aspects remain.
.
Staues were added to the gardens around 1848 and now total 106!!! There are lots of things to do here such as watch a puppet show at the famous theatre, float toy boats in the huge octagonal basin, play games of chess, ride the carousel or just wander and enjoy the beauty. Many people were lounging on the grassy areas reading books and relaxing… it was just lovely!
.
The next time we go back, we will remember to take a book and a little picnic snack… although there were food vendors where you can also buy something to eat and drink in case you forgot to bring anything. Make sure to put this on your list of places to visit and leave plenty of time for just strolling and doing nothing at all! BISOU BISOU ??????
So so lovely Millie. Thanks for sharing.??
One of my favorite places.
Beautiful!!!
So beautiful in the photos and I’m sure it’s even more beautiful in person. Those flowers you bought are a beautiful color and I love the litte plates have as water catchers. ?????
Oh Millie, you and your Mummy visited one of my favorite places in Paris! It really is so beautiful there, and so relaxing. We stayed very near Luxembourg Gardens so it was easy walking distance.
By the way, I hope your Daddy and your sisters, and your human brothers and their doggies are all safe at home. I know you all are used to severe storms, but Florence is a big one. Hugs to all. Bisou bison.
I’m so sorry, I meant bisou bisou. My computer isn’t very good at writing French and it auto-corrected to “bison!”
It is a beautiful garden!! And you are so lucky to hv seen it. And you are right about the flowers. Paris has some of the most beautiful flowers and flower shops I hv ever seen!
