IT’S MY BIRTHDAY! IT’S MY BIRTHDAY! I’m 14 years old today! I know!!! I can’t believe it myself! Two years ago I was celebrating my 12th birthday in PARIS, FRANCE and Mummy bought me a tiny, little Swarovski crystal Eiffel Tower for my birthday cake…so this year I wanted to put it on my cake again. Things are certainly different this year but BOY AM I EXCITED to be getting a yummy cake made by Mummy. Lots of people ask me how the cake is made and it’s so simple. It’s really just a meat-loaf, of sorts. Mummy just mixes up ground beef, some rice, mashed sweet potatoes and a few assorted cooked veggies into a big bowl and mashes it all up together. Then she presses it into a little, tiny 6-inch round cake pan sprayed with PAM and lines the bottom with parchment paper so that it will come out easier. She fills it to the top and bakes it for about 35-40 minutes. There are TWO cake rounds in this cake, but you can make one if you want. The “icing” is just instant mashed potatoes that she mixes up to be on the thicker side. She put a little between the two cooled cakes and then presses the “icing” onto the cooled cakes with her hands…it presses on quite easily. Let the “icing” cool down a bit first. To get it extra smooth, you can run a really hot knife over the whole thing when you are through….then put it in the refrigerator until time to eat. We each get a tiny slice for our dinner with a few pieces of kibble. This is our normal-type dinner since Mummy home cooks for us anyway. We are used to this type food so, NO… this does not make us sick. Mummy slices up the remaining cake into tiny slices and places them into freezer bags and uses them for our future meals. I got to pick out a new t-shirt from my on-line BOUTIQUE, and OF COURSE I chose the PARIS PERFUME T-SHIRT!!! I think that Mummy KNEW what I was going to choose for my gift! All in all it has been a great day. Later tonight we will all gather around my cake and my sisters will all get a chance to jump in and we will ATTACK MY CAKE like we get to do every year. We all get to take BITES…RIGHT FROM THE CAKE!!! Katie is always shy about that part and Tulip is the most rambunctious!!! Sometimes Daddy has to grab her and pull her back… honestly, that girl needs a few lessons on table manners sometimes! LOLOLOLOLOL Only a few more hours to go. Dinnertime is almost here. I can’t wait!
