This easy to make dinner has everything you want in a “comfort food.” You start by making it ahead, pop it in the frig and when you are ready for dinner…bake. VOILA!

HAM AND CHEESE CROISSANT CASSEROLE
.
3 (5-inch) large croissants…you can find these in the bakery section of your local grocery or a good french bakery
1/2 pound diced thick ham…dice it into tiny little squares
5 ounces Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
6 large eggs
1 cup 1/2 & 1/2
1 Tablespoon dry mustard
2 Tablespoons honey
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
.
Grease a 10-inch round and very deep casserole dish. Slice croissants lengthwise and then cut each slice into about 6-8 pieces. Place all of the pieces in the bottom of the greased casserole dish. Top with the diced ham and shredded cheese. In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and remaining ingredients and pour over the croissant pieces…pressing down so that you make sure to cover all of the bread in the egg mixture. Cover with foil and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 325 degrees and bake for 30 -40 minutes or until browned and set. Let stand about 10 minutes before serving.
